KLM has specific baggage policies for both carry-on and checked baggage, which may vary depending on your route, cabin class, and frequent flyer status. Here is a general overview of KLM baggage policy:
Carry-on baggage:
- Economy Class passengers are allowed one piece of carry-on baggage, not to exceed 7 kg (15 lbs) and not larger than 50 x 37 x 25 cm (20 x 15 x 10 in).
- Business and First Class passengers are allowed two pieces of carry-on baggage, each not to exceed 15 kg (33 lbs) and not larger than 50 x 37 x 25 cm (20 x 15 x 10 in).
- Additionally, one personal item such as a handbag, briefcase, or laptop bag is allowed in addition to the carry-on baggage.
Checked baggage:
Economy Class baggage allowances vary based on factors like destination and ticket type. Additional bags can be purchased during or after booking. The standard baggage allowance per ticket type is as follows: Light tickets include no checked baggage, while Standard or Flex tickets allow one checked bag weighing up to 23 kg and measuring up to 158 cm (length + width + height) including handles and wheels. Some routes may permit an extra checked bag.
In Premium Comfort Class, passengers with Standard or Flex tickets can bring two checked bags with the same size and weight limits. However, Light tickets in Premium Comfort Class do not include checked luggage.
Business Class allowances include two checked bags for Standard or Flex ticket holders, each weighing up to 32 kg and meeting the specified size criteria. Light tickets in
Business Class include one checked bag with a maximum weight of 32 kg. Baggage allowances for children depend on ticket type and whether they have a seat booked. If a seat is booked, the standard baggage allowance for the chosen ticket type applies. For infants traveling on a lap, if the ticket includes checked baggage, one item weighing 10 kg is allowed.
